The announcement was made on 29 November at a glamorous Gala Awards ceremony, held in London and attended by more than a thousand travel industry professionals, including representatives from all leisure travel genres and companies.
Dolores Collins, Managing Director, Canterbury Travel said: This is the third year in a row that Canterbury Travel has won an award in this category. It is a great achievement for a small independent tour operator and means so much more as it is voted for by the consumer. On behalf of my team I’d like to extend my thanks to everyone who voted for us.
British Travel Awards’ chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said: Canterbury Travel is to be congratulated on winning Best family Holiday company Silver Award. The British Travel Awards is the largest consumer voted awards programme in the world and this year 722,473 votes were cast by the travelling public to determine the winners and to win is truly an accolade and a badge of excellence. We occasionally get emails and calls from consumers who have not been happy with their holiday experience, and of course no-one can please all the people all of the time – BUT, the BTAs reflect the views of happy customers – and our standard is – “if you didn’t like it – don’t vote for it”. The results speak volumes.
The British Travel Awards is a proudly independent organisation, verified by leading global business practitioners – Deloitte. The BTAs are the only travel industry accolade voted for exclusively by the consumer and the Awards serve to recognise all that is great about travel, as experienced by the travelling consumer.

British Travel Awards’ chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “Canterbury Travel is to be congratulated on winning Best Family Holiday Company Silver and Best Activity Holiday Bronze Awards. Competition was fierce this year with more companies entering the competition than ever before – but ultimately it is the travelling public who decide the winners by voting for the travel companies they consider the best in the business. The British Travel Awards is the largest awards programme in the UK and to win is truly an accolade and testament to the great products and services travel companies offer to their customers.”
British Travel Awards’ chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “More than a quarter of a million consumers voted this year to determine the winners of the 2015 British Travel Awards – it’s the largest awards programme in the UK and to win is a clear statement that companies are providing excellence in travel to the discerning consumer. The travelling public regard the British Travel Awards winners logo as the benchmark for excellence when it comes to finding out who are the best travel companies and CANTERBURY TRAVEL is to be congratulated on their achievement.”
The whole team at Canterbury Travel would like to say a massive THANK YOU to all our customers past and present who voted for us. We’re extremely grateful for your support and very proud to receive this award – it really does mean so much.
